Specialist care for donors and recipients
If you decide to use donor eggs, embryos or sperm, or a surrogate, to achieve a pregnancy, there are significant considerations involved. Your Donor Program Nurse and the Donor Nursing Team will support you at every stage of the journey.
We understand that whether you are donating or if you’re the recipient, you need to make considered and informed decisions, and it helps to have a familiar face throughout the process.
A member of the donor team will be your main point of contact throughout the process, and can help you with advice on the medical treatment process, legal responsibilities, social issues, as well as how to advertise for a potential egg donor.
We will provide you with:
- Information packs when you first enquire about our donor program
- Advice on finding a suitable egg or sperm donor
- Advice on the process of surrogacy
- Support and care for donors, including flexible appointment times and expense reimbursements (for clinic recruited sperm donors)
- Information sessions on treatment cycles and medication (these may be joint sessions, with the donor and recipient)
- Coordination of cycles, so treatment can begin
- Scans and tests as required
- Confirmation of your place on our donor embryo waiting list
- Support, encouragement and information throughout the process
Together with our Patient Liaison Administrators we will help to organise your registration, and all pre-treatment medical and counselling appointments.
The Donor Program Team is managed by Rachael Varady, who has more than 7 years' experience in supporting and guiding patients and their donors through treatment.
