Dr Jim Tsaltas

Highly-regarded advanced laparoscopic surgeon with a personal approach

As well as being a specialist with Melbourne IVF, Jim is Head of the Gynaecological Endoscopy Unit at Monash Medical Centre and Southern Health. He is also currently President of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES), and immediate past board member of International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE).

Jim’s surgical expertise is in advanced endometriosis surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is a founding member of the Endometriosis Care Centre of Australia.  His main research interests are the impact of severe endometriosis on IVF outcomes, and surgical management of severe endometriosis.

Keen to share his knowledge and skills, Jim also teaches advanced laparoscopic surgery to Australian and overseas surgeons. Although he is clearly an authority in his field, he is recommended by patients as very approachable and pleasant to deal with.
